Patent vs. Patent application

It might take 22 months to GET a patent, but APPLYING for a patent should display almost immediately. Look for patent APPLICATIONS, rather than PATENTS.

I am under the impression that when you do a search for a patent, the search will look for issued AND applications for patents. A patent does not have to be issued to show up; it merely has to be applied for.

I am certainly open to being corrected if my understanding of the search process if flawed.
