#50187 RE: davidam #50185

I don't doubt its big business, and I don't doubt that entire companies are devoted entirely to leveraging fans and making that connection between artist and fan stronger and richer (not good for RTGV).

What is troubling is that, as RZA (and other artists), and Louis CK demonstrate is that they're not waiting. When I first got into this, it was a sound business idea with competent individuals working on hitting deadlines. The sound business idea is still evident, its still a great idea. The competent individuals are, for the most part, still with RTGV. Hitting deadlines has been discussed already.

But, now we're seeing that artists, who have so much more on the line than any investor here ($250K in costs had to be recouped for one stand up act from Louis CK for example), and they're putting it out on the line. And you know what the worst part is? ITS WORKING. Louis made a million dollars, and screenshotted it for all to see. If RTGV was to have the best shot, it was before anyone did anything like this and artists wanted to make that direct connection to fans, but felt like they needed some help in achieving it. Now, the smarter artists/comedians (both RZA and Louis are darn smart), are jumping in the pool by themselves and are saying to all the other artists on the sides "hey guys, the water's fine". How long until the Lady Gaga's and Kanye's of the world do their own thing (to be on the edge, where they love to be as artists)? And then once Kanye, Gaga, etc. have their own apps, how exactly does RTGV design a better one that offers all the individual aspects of what the artists individually designed at an equal/better price point, and in an efficient manner? THAT IS A TALL ORDER. You have to be somewhat of a first to market, because it is a good idea. But artists aren't waiting, while us investors are

You and I are talking about the same thing I think, its just that you automatically assume RTGV will be that third party link that everyone (artists and consumers) would anxiously await to adopt. I'm saying that its quickly becoming a foregone conclusion to invite third parties (RTGV) into the mix, especially when artists are having such strong success on their own. (and yes, i count louis ck, one of the few who has done this independent arrangement, getting to $1MM a success). But we both want success, lets hope we get it... but there's that word again...
