Rainbow, that clearly requires one to factor in their personal holdings. If I hold 1 share of P, and 100000 of common, then that's one reality. If I hold 1 share of Commons, and 1000 shares of Ps, then it's a different reality.

Of course, that's an extreme example -- but it shows quickly why the math does not work universally. One has to calculate the effects for themselves, on their own holdings.

Depends on losses occurred to sell common...and if the split is as some suggest. I stll believe we have some more miles to walk through the WAMU fun house.

For those that hold both commons and prefs, once the conversion rates are know for the P's K's and U's, you just have to use a calculator to figure out how many newco shares you get under a 70/30 split and how many under a 100/0 split.

Could well turn out that someone who owns 1000 Ps and 200,000 U's would end up with more newco shares under a 100/0 split. In that case, they should vote no if they want to maximize their return.
