Agreed. Nobody can "Bump" them, but there are always "influencers" who are the unspoken part of every major corporate deal. It's a matter of who is able to sway the directors in order to get the deal closed or killed.
I'm a corporate sales executive by the way and I work with many major real estate franchises. I know how this works too.
We have nothing until the aquisition is paid for. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.
