Unfortunately thats what is happening in the markets, most of us look around each day, we see it from the hundreds of corporations we have known for decades. Maybe a very few can still perform, but the najority are not. You can say its because of this or because of that, its because of what is happening in this country each and everyday. This is almost as bad as the War between the States, its a Civil War, and both sides loses.
We here in this trading forum are watching it unfold each and everyday, we can see many of the problems, but we cannot fix them, we can just see them happening.
As many of the smarter people decide its time to step back and safeguard themselves is not being untrustworthy, its just being prudent.
The enviroment is corrupt, but not having commonground is the real problem. Just like this debt problem if each side would give a little, it could solve the problem easily. Last January they had a $ 4 Trillion deal, but it involved giving back the Bush Tax Cuts, and the other side said no. Now there is a movement happening around the country, and its beginning to say that you had time to compromise, in the meantime Millions more have gone through another year of going without a job, and so many other things. Hell I have some friendswho's children have lost there jobs and have moved back home. They still have college loans to pay off, and the family is helping by supporting them. But a four year degree, and you work for maybe $ 10.00 an hour in some job where they treat you like crap, and still not being able to pay off your loan can be quite disconcerning when you are young.
Then there are really the sad stories of teachers who lost there job due to the budget cutbacks, and the teachers who are left now have classrooms that approaching 50 in size, and salaries that haven't seen a raise in years. Educaion was never suppose to be a profitable business, it was something that America believed in as a way of advancing its people, and hopefully transforming everyone's lives into a more meaningful experience for all. But something happened along the way, the things America once kept as a right of all of its citizens has given way to this Business type debit/credit in balance approach. Sometimes you just cannot measure everything down to the pennie, you have to step back and ask yourself was this worth it, like the bridge that was built to get across the river. You didn't make any money on that deal also, but it beneits everyone who goes over it, and to those people who don't use and say its unfair to them, well thats the price you pay for living in a country that is trying to advance everyone.
