It is the very trust of which you speak and the lack thereof that will exascerbate the financial problems going forward. Betrayal of trust inevitably leads to less trust. Hoarding is a lack of trust. Pulling monies out of investment vehicles and putting them in a non-earning but safer environment is a lack of trust. Buying gold, silver, etc and burying it in one's backyard is a lack of trust. A necessary form of prejudice develops -- how many times does one have to be hurt before one learns to recognize the signs potentially leading to an outcome harmful to oneself and take defensive actions. Not to do so would be flat-out foolish, IMO.
A corrupt environment does not foster trust, it destroys it, and that is the process we are currently still undergoing, and the denouement will not be pretty.
Newly
