To which I would add: if Wave needed permission to use the FDIC logo, you know, wouldn't it be interesting if they actually GOT IT? (Nahhhhhh... we shall have no positive possibilities!)

I just trolled through the FDIC.gov site.

There are plenty of explicit rules for what a bank can and must do with the FDIC logo, but absolutely nothing, implicit or explicit, about non-bank web sites using the logo -- that I could find.

I'm not familiar with the Yahoo folks. I saw SPIN's question asked in the Parking Lot and responded here to him as well.

I have roughly 20 years of banking experience and have dealt with the FDIC in the course of their exams. I've never seen them endorse any one DP solution. However in the course of their bank exams they do preform DP audits. If they find a problem in the course of an exam they can and do issue C&D orders telling the bank to FIX the problem. They don't however tell the bank which product to fix it with. lol.
