Gold production from the Blanket mine in Zimbabwe rose 18 per
from the previous quarter.



* It produced 9,743 ounces in the three month period.

* Gold prices were 15 per cent higher than the previous quarter
too.

* The firm reported pre-tax profits of C$8.4 million for the
quarter.

* That is an eleven fold increase from the same period of 2010.

* Caledonia had C$6.8 million in cash and equivalents
at the end of the period.

* According to Collins Stewart analyst John Mgloin the Blanket mine’s
continued improvement is a testament to the quality of the
personnel and management.

* The rise in gold production and profit in the last seven
quarters came in the face of difficult and testing operating
conditions, the analyst said.

* Mcgloin highlights that at the end of the reporting period Caledonia
was ‘within a whisker’ of the 40,000 ounce a year run rate
that the firm promised investors last year, and in this was
subsequently achieved in October.

* As a result of its strong performance Caledonia has ‘blown
well past’ Mcgloin’s forecasts.

* The analyst expected that miner to post a pre-tax profit
of US$5 million.

* The company currently trades on a PE of 1.5x earnings,
he said.
