I seriously doubt that the US politicians (Govt) will get involved with IDCC's and Nok's dispute.

laranger: This article dated April 2004, states Nokia has 6,600 employees in US.

If NOK has more than 1,000 employees in the U.S., I'd be surprised.

At the end of 2004, ~6,700 of Nokia's 55,500 employees were resident in the USA and that includes two corporate officers -- Rick Simonson their CFO, and Mary T. McDowell who heads the Enterprise Solutions division. The CDMA BU in San Diego alone employs over 1,200 individuals and some 600+ are employed at the Mountain View CA campus and several thousand are in the Dallas facilities. Their new corporate offices in Harrison NY will employ about 300 when fully staffed.

Best,

NOKIA was one of the two prime sponsers of Dubya's 2000 Inaugural Ball (the main event, not one of the sideline events). I never saw what involvement they had in 2004.
