UVE ... now that is a scary proposition.

I'll steer clear for now. They seem to be doing what the former governor of New Jersey did.

r59, I just noticed that when reveiewing the q.

I doubt they invested in distressed foreign debt. Given their love of metals, maybe Candian. But, who knows....its possible. Anyway, for an insurance company, even if the debt in only Canuckian, they are way too aggressive with their investment portfolio, imo.

UVE

That seems like a great idea (Being sarcastic.). The problem I have with UVE (Why I sold at $3.70 when I found this out, although I wish I wated to sell at a higher price.), is there investment decision to me make me wonder why do they seek risk as such a great level, there buiness is risky enough. Would it simply be easier, to own a bunch of T, KO, PEP,VZ,MO, etc. Collect 3-4-5% dividends, and not time the market, or buy things that are distressed or make huge sector bets. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.
