It is not possible for most older installations. The ampacity of 12 gauge (AWG) wire is at maximum 30 amps (at an operating temperature of 90C). To deliver the kinds of current you are talking about would require 8 gauge or even 6 gauge wiring. Thus, it would require a special rewiring installation to operate at 115/120 volts and 60 amps.

Certainly not a "plug and play" unit.

No it takes size 6 wire to handle 60 amp. would not fit in a 110/120v recep enclosure or connect to the fixture.

The concept picture we were given back awhile showed a standard 110/120v 3 prong plug hanging out of it.

I believe the POU will be designed for plug and play.
(110/120v 7-12amp)
