Whoa, this all making sense. When i was living in Durango and near Needles(both down stream from Silverton) we were warned to never eat the fish that we had caught because of mercury and other harmful minerals found in the water because of the mining that had been done in the decades before. I wonder if this is all related. Looks like I have some research to do....
