I have an Acer laptop and have never had any difficulties with it so far. Hope this isn't like traffic and mentioning what great timing you are making because we all know what happens when you say that! lol Anyhow, some people hate ACER - i have had no problem with the one I have.

My wife has an Acer laptop. No problems in 3 years. Great machine.
