Were then Qualcom to purchase IDCC, then the IDCC current revenue would be effectively lost as I would imagine all companies licensed with IDCC is licensed with Qualcom.

All companies licensed with IDCC should be chipping in funds for Qualcom to take IDCC out. On the other hand, seems the most IDCC would do for Qualcom is shore up their patent portfolio "just a little bit". Were I Qualcom, I would take a pass on IDCC as Qualcom is patent and engineering rich without IDCC.

Let Apple, Sammy or a consortium take IDCC out as long as the price falls in the range of mpartners estimates. $118 is fine with me. I'm fine with IDCC's essential patents. Essential is essential and cosmetic blocking patents may be short term expedient, but are here and gone. mo.. nic

nicmar: I have no idea what the QCOM-Nokia license terms are so I cannot answer your question.

If the license terms include something similar to the wording in IDCC's LG license i.e. "including ownership as a result of acquisition", I would think Nokia would only owe the original $1,000.
