#216380 RE: bridgebuilder #216378

bridge, re Credant (and edit)

broadly speaking Credant provides DAR and DLP solutions with some TPM managment. Coincidentally for part of their suite Credant and Wave both entered into agreements with Safend.

I can't imagine that anybody is planning on buying Embassy for Bitlocker and Credant for Bitlocker, Embassy Protector and Credant Protector, Credant Compliance Reporter and Wave Endpoint Monitor,

When somebody selects these Credant products they will not be selecting Wave's products. Conversely, Wave's products are of TC origin, fully TPM fluent, and in my estimation superior in their TC approach.

Broadly speaking Credant's products hail form a more legacy pure-software approach, although they do offer e.g. some centralized TPM management, key backup, auditing and so on for their bitlocker application.

Were I Credant I would be worried, and hopefully Wave will rapidly seize the opportunity to effectively relegate Credant to a footnote.

**edit: I never attempted to say that the Safend aquisition made Credant more of a competitor, rather that it confused the issue as they now offer an identical, literally identical, product.
Will, e.g., Wave cut Credant on support for Protector? Updates? Upgrades? Interoperability?
