Your taking principle to an extreme maybe, but I love it and agree with the points.

<<If it works the same it will not get approval.>>

The FDA will approve similar drugs. They always look for different ingredients though that do the same thing. If you look at INSM and Iplex vs. Ipsen and Increlex....both are for short stature. Just one of many examples too. Very different drugs that do the same thing...one does it better than the other, but in this case Iplex infringed on patents that are soon to expire. FYI, Iplex is no longer owned by Insmed....but they just took a price hammering. So the world also revolves around patents :)

"built to break Like TV sets and appliances. They tend to break just after the warranty expires.

But explain Craftsman or Snap-on tools. You break grandpas old craftsman wrench and you get it replaced for free for life"

you can keep making comparisons but none of them apply...you are comparing electronics to a hunk of metal like a wrench...way too different..and neither have anything to do with fabric..
and sure, craftsman guarantees their wrenches and such but they know good and well the vast majority of prople will not return them even if they break...so they can tout their lifetime guarantee for very little cost...its true but its really just for advertisement purposes..

"Clothing is not something you buy 1 time in 10 years"..

correct..i made that point also..

"If the quality of clothing was not taken under consideration by the consumer then Levi's jeans would never have made it"

now you are having to go back 140 years to prove a point?..cant find something in fabric just a little bit earlier?..lol...im pretty sure things were a little bit different back then...the reasons they did things were different...the needs were different..i doubt anyone produced anything back then with the intent it shouldnt last.....BUT THEY DO NOW...

"The Idea that better products wont sell or be used because they wont wear out is just stupid"

well that sure wasnt something i said...what i did say was that manufacturers may not want to make any clothing that will last any longer than they do now...not that they wouldnt sell if they were made...i hope thats clear now...
an example is given a few posts from here...panty hose that doesnt run...in the first place no one wears pantyhose anymore..but if they were to come back, i doubt manufacturers will want to make pantyhose that doesnt run...im quite sure they were happy with customers having to replace hosery frequently...what is their incentive to want hosery that is better than nylon and lasts a lot longer?...unless they intend to charge a heck of a lot more for it...and in that case you are not taking over or revolutionizing anything...you are just another possible material that can be used as well as others..

"Look at the FDA requirement for a new drug. One of the things they look for is for a new drug to work better then what exists now. If it works the same it will not get approval"

thats not exactly how it works...and its just another comparison that doesnt fit the fabric category..

"This world revolves around improvements. If you really think that good product wont sell"

again no one said good products wont sell...it was said that some products whether they are good or not may not get made....

take your statement above for example..."When you talk about something you buy every 10 years or so a lot of things seem to be built to break Like TV sets and appliances. They tend to break just after the warranty expires"......you agree they build good things but dont build them last...ON PURPOSE...but you think its stupid to believe that they wont make good things that will last longer than normal...????????????
