Uh oh! Precisely because of the points you make above, that is not an avenue now open to Cornell or to NNAN. The point of patent law known as prior art would preclude that:

There's nothing I've seen in the Cornell work that suggests to me that halloysite has any therapeutic application, but I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise if some one can point out how that might apply.

I can see how the title of NNAN's PR, deliberately designed to be misleading as normal, might lead some to think that:

"Enhanced Targeting of Cancer Cells"

but the further description from Dr. KIng makes it very plain this is about lab work, not therapeutics:

"King's Lab has developed new methods for the isolation of intact, viable cancer cells from patient blood"
