That is good for mitigating the tidal surge. If a CAT 3 hits land at high tide on a full moon, there can be flooding at least 80 miles away from the point of landfall--that is, vertically along the coast, not inland. Perhaps the distance is even greater than that. Making landing on a full moon at high tide is the worst case scenario for flooding. One thing to be grateful for.
