That last part makes me feel a little more optimistic, someone is responsible for what happened. If not the seller than the broker dealer, T/A, DTC, brokerages, etc.

Maybe we'll actually see some changes made in regulatory procedures, I think we have to.

I am not a CMKX idiot and I don't think CMKX's problems were caused by naked shorting, but I think a MM or a specialist should be forced to follow the rules as they were originally intended.

IOW, they should help to maintain an orderly market.

What that means to me is that they should buy when someone wants to sell and sell when someone wants to buy.

To do that effectively they should have an inventory like any other seller of any commodity.

I have said this many times:

I believe the ability of MMs and specialists to sell short naked on demand and cover on selling only causes volatility, not prevents it.
