OT:They may have $350 Million in 2G monies expenses ..to encourage them settle with a 3G rate..and reduce their 2G obligation to a manageable sum.

Considering that no 3G trigger has been licensed, NOK has ZERO reason to negotiate 3G rates... especially with 3G patent litigation pending.

NOK will be VERY motivated to get a 3G deal if after June the ICC awards a big royalty rate to IDCC...No?

Ed, as much as I hate to agree with you, I think you are right. Nokia will not negotiate 2G until the arbitration decision is made public and will not negotiate 3G until a trigger is licensed.

The more time that passes, the more discounts they get. It's as simple as that. Why doesn't IDCC management understand that?

"Considering that no 3G trigger has been licensed, NOK has ZERO reason to negotiate 3G rates... especially with 3G patent litigation pending."

IMO, it is unreasonable of you to make an absolute statement like that. If Ericy is a trigger for 2G and 3G and IDCC wins a good 2G arb award, then it would benefit NOK to negotiate 3G before going to another arbitration.
