WayHaw.. I think for the most part, conflict between the administration and the S&P is purely "spinning" by one side or the other. I believe the problem came to a head when the administration or either party were unwilling to address run away entitlements.

Reports of conflict are all over the news and I find that to be political covering as both parties, the administration and the S&P will all be pointing fingers at each other and in the news for days. Somebody just said "a pox on all their houses."

The market may be affected to some degree. I hope it's minimal, but none the less, I believe there will be some fabulous opportunities if one has some cash stashed away.

The fact remains that the US has not had a rating lower than triple A during it's history. I'm thinking about heading west and panning for some gold. :>) mo.. nic

I heard a bit on NPR a couple days ago that suggested there was some infighting between the administration and S&P and the downgrade was some kind of payback.
