Oh, and I would be interested to know what companies across the pond might be able to bid, or to do so as a consortium? The IDCC portfolio might be an opportunity to get some of the balance of patents back in to the European union, as was the case with GSM. Just taking a historical perspective I would think this also could be a possibility.
I recall ahead of the Nortel Auctions that some folks within the government considered the intellectual property a National Treasure. But we are in a capitalistic society and it will go to the highest bidder.
