My3sons:Problem with selling a basket of patents and keeping the others is several fold. For one thing there are rules regarding 'patent families' being split up. For another, do you think an acquirer is going to want us to cherry pick prime patents out and sell others? At the very least they would require a license across the portfolio and a CNS (covenant not to sue)...otherwise we sell them some patents and then turn around and sue on others? That's doesn't fit into the defensive strategy that is key to the interest of some acquirers.

As to what a company with a billion in the bank is worth, I would venture the guess.... uh at least a billion? (depending on what else the company has) ;-)
