#212649 RE: New Wave #212648

Hi New Wave,

I now realise I was really responding to Internet's post further back along the thread. As a means of making sense of the rather gentle growth pattern, I'm thinking of an analogy.

The difficulty Wave faces seems akin to the development of the wing in Nature (something which happened more than once). How did Nature provide a path from a flightless creature to a fully formed one? The answer appears to have been that there were useful adaptations between the flightless starting point and the avigation at the end. It is likely that some of these adaptations had nothing to do with flight: the feather may initially have regulated warmth, for instance.

Wave's offer looks like a useful support for the hoped-for environment of TPM usage. Of trust in flight mode, as it were. But its current product set is apparently not informing the journey towards the trust matrix with any great velocity. Indeed, per internet, they are experiencing conceptual resistance.

Perhaps the environmental worries many companies are experiencing will help launch sales into the stratosphere. I'm not backing away from my guess of 4-10 major orders in 2011. But that's a pretty small number in the context of the total market, as many folks have pointed out. It sounds like the trust market may still be short of an intermediary catalyst or two. I don't claim to know what those catalysts might be: I simply suspect that small steps are easier to take than leaps into the void. Elaboration of the architecture (eg in the phone market) may be less important to Wave's progress than some marginal but useful product which induces folks to switch their TPMs on.
