dgtams, Michael and John both told me the MIT 1000 can already detect all the E. coli strains normally tested, and when I asked if it could detect these six additional strains, they said they can be added very quickly. At the time I asked this question, the problems in Europe were only just beginning, and they may not have thought at the time that it would get this big. However, MMTC would need to obtain the certification for E. coli first before they could market this capability.
