VG-Future JPO Issue

This is what I was sent by a friend who looked into it. Looks like some legal date has been set for 03/04/2003. Maybe our legal eagles can opine on this.

Our Japanese agents have just informed us that they have obtained the following documents from the files of JP2979064 and JP2816349:

1. JP 2979064:
[opposition no. 2000-72020]

[trial no. 2002-39124]
Request for trial (with corrected specification): May 20, 2002

In the trial procedure the latest action recorded was the rejection of the correction of September 4, 2002. A request for extension of the period within which an argument may be filed was made by the patentee and the argument should now be filed by March 4, 2003.

2. JP 2816349:

[trial no. 2002-39123]
Request for trial (with corrected specification): May 20, 2002
Notice of rejection reason of correction: September 4, 2002/12/24

In the trial procedure the latest action recorded was the rejection of the correction of September 4, 2002. A request for extension of the period within which an argument may be filed was made by the patentee and the argument should now be filed by March 4, 2003.

Total number of pages: 1247. The requests for trial account for one third of the pages.

We hope that this meets your request. We will send the documents to you as soon as we receive them.
