If it is a data carrier (barcode) modulated with an index, 048 applies. That includes voice recognition, RF signals, magnetic card readers. Basically all known methods of index input!! EOS

IYO, what is the purpose of index?

Here's the link Lol

Poptech: Ok Pops, I read through the patent link you pasted and it only seems to give my statements more credibility...

Which page are you referring to that is supposed to refute my arguments?? This "08-29-2008 REM Applicant Arguments/Remarks Made in an Amendment" speaks in broad terms and covers not only barcodes but any "data carrier modulated with an index".

Also, it focused on refuting Wellner (Direct encoding) and Berners-Lee's patent (similar but relates to retrieving videos).

AM i missing something here? Where is the refute to the Partial Indirect/Managed Direct methods/standards/processes (whatever you want to call it)?

Oh, and to add more credibility to my argument there is always the Director at Neustar:

Differences Between Direct and Indirect 2D Barcodes

I am not trying to argue, only to show you that YES Managed Direct/Partial Indirect is covered under NeoMedia.. ANY INDEX partial or whole = covered.. almost like being half-pregnant...
