Marine P2O has nothing to do with the Patch.

Moot point whether it's a growing problem or not. Doesnt impact the business in the slightest!!

For the record, a sea-going vessel via a JV with Heddle Marine is still listed in black and white on the JBI website. In turn, I believe it is safe to assume a marine P2O prong is still part of the company business plan.

By the way, maybe it is just because you do not follow the company much, but you seem to be mistaking/confusing the one long-term possible adventure of addressing the garbage patch with the much bigger business plan prong of using a ship to execute mobile P2O in ports of different countries. These two things are very different, but I could see how a very superficial understanding of the company could result in confusion for casual observers.

Clearly D-Day made no sense what-so-ever. "Of course the marine thing was always a joke with JBI, only someone with no sense of what it takes to launch a marine venture would ever think that could be possible."

Offshore where? Good luck with that.

Can your company produce oil at $10/bbl?

I sure hope there was more to that article than the paragraph you posted.

Every surface in the ocean is covered with bacteria. That includes small pieces of plastic.

You don't seem to grasp what the P2O marine project is about. It is not and never was about cleaning up plastic from the ocean, although there was a great deal of discussion about that.

What the company said was that it wanted to put P2O processor on a ship and take that ship to islands that have a plastic disposal problem, put in to port, process the plastic waste on the island and sell the resulting fuel. The ship would then go to the next port and do the same thing.

If you are going to criticize the company's plans, please make sure you know what they are first.
