It's two things IMO. There is A LOT of scared money out there. And A LOT of inexperienced traders.

People stand on the bid all day long trying to buy in, and then "if" they get in, as soon as they are up a tick or two they bail out on the bid.

These people never give a stock a chance to run. The days of nice 3 day runs are long gone!!!
