correct, but...
a) if the deal goes south, then we're back to the priority issues {which I won't argue here}
b) and if the deal goes forward, the transaction ratio will, necessarily, take the nature of P and K's into consideration -- they will become NewCo commons, yes, but at a different conversion ratio -- to be announced. As a simple example, we won't see 1 OldCoP = 1 NewCo-Common, and at the same time see 1 OldCo_common = 1 NewCo-Common.
Since both (a) and (b) -- I do hold, as I have disclosed before, P/K's so that while I may not end up as well as pure commons, my likelihood of being happier is higher due to the relative preference... ergo, preferreds.
And YES, I do hold commons as well. But I have my risk spread because of all the unknown.
