#59555 RE: mlsoft #59534

Please explain a bit more, please.

$22,100 MSRP on OLds Alero GL2 with 3.4L V6 and power drivers seat.

reduced to $19.7 or $2.4K off in employee purchase price discount (father in law worked for GM). Go to any GM dealership before 1/2/03 and wave cash and they would probably let you have it that price. Itv sems that every car in showroom had employee discount price on windshield.

Rebatesfrom GM totaling $3K as listed in newspaper; $250 additional for GM qualified employee sale if you act before 1/2/03 and $750 for passing on extended 60 month 60K warantee. We are up to $5.4K.

My GM card had $2,800 in rebates accrued; they added $500 if I bought before 1/2/03. Also, they waived the total limit of $1,500 for Alero and allowed total $3,300 to be applied against purchase price.
Total now $8.7K

(I think your getting the idea that GM wants sales by 1/2/03)

My Citicard Drivers Edge credit card rebate accured $1.9K over last 4 years which I have to mail in to recieve rebate after purchase.
Total rebate now $10.6K

Last but not least, this is replacement for my wife's car. She wanted in 1995 a Pontiac Sunfire because it had "happy face". I said don't get car in first model year you never know what's going to go wrong with it. I said go with Grand AM or Grand Prix minimum. For $13.5K including Tax after employee discount I wasn't going to advise her not to go with it. Low and behold 1 year later head gasget blows in 96 and after two bisits to dealer it appears to be fixed. The car was only driven 5K per year unitl 98 and then our daughter was born in 98 car didn't get driven for 2 years. Car has been used for more frequently recently becuase father time is catching up eith car and it hardly had been driven. 2 weeks ago I noticed that radiator fluid light came on and noticed replacement head gasket was leaking again and car only has 52K miles on it. I called Pontiac and asked why 2nd head gasket was leaking. She said they had a general recall on this issue and I got upset that why wasn't I informed and asked them what kind of consideration they would give me to buy new car. She said that she would get back to me in a weeks time. That was Tues 2 weeks ago. I get home that night and get a surprise dear john letter from GM executive that is time for all employee discount egible GM card credit cardholders to come to the aid of GM and please buy a car before 1/2/03. I called back Pontiac and said I would now buy a car most likely a Olds and could they give me some small owner loyality discount since car is basically ready for scrapheap after 52K miles. They got back to me 12/24 and said that Pontiac was not going to offer me any consideration for head gasket failure becuase I wasn't buying a replacement Pontiac but a Olds. I got Olds sales manager consulting GM for consideration on head gasket right now and I will know if GM coughs up some money or not after I have walked out door with new car.

I am hoping that they don't offer me any money for head gasket failures because I got a law firm picked out to litagate in my behalf. Their web site is called www.lemonlaw.com I know of them from having been on recieving end of their civil suits. I sold a computer in 97 to a fruitcake of a lady who had no problems wiht computer but wanted all her money back 6 months after purchase because basic problem was she wanted faster computer for same price after 6 months. I said no way and all she said to me is you will be sorry just before she hung up. Early in 2000, the first civil suit came in filed in the wrong jurisdiction. The civil suits didn't stop until late 2001 when after amassing $1,500 in legal costs to at least reduce the profitability of this law firms blackmail efforts I surrendered and paid up.

Gm will settle very soon with this law firm because ther don't have a leg to stand on. All I was asking from GM was to say their sorry and to give me $250-500 consideration to cover cost of head gasket repair before I donate car to charity.
