hrbart, I was wondering the same thing. LOL.
I doubt they quite expected the circus show today. It started off nicely as Mr. Bailey from Virginia got a nice reception from the gallery. And the 2nd question of the day prompted Bill to go into his pre-drafted comments about the Nortel auction process and where IDCC stands in the bidding. It shouldn't shock anyone that our small company and their consortium are being priced out by the big boys. (We have been discussing this for months and months and months - and that this was likely going to be the outcome. And, IMHO, the best outcome for IDCC.)
And then the show really started. William W. Espy of Atlanta used up a lot more than his allotted two minutes to open up a can of whoop-ass, questioning everything from royalty rates to lack of insider purchases on the open market. Mr. Espy got a big ovation from the crowd, and when he finally was finished with his speech, I mean questions, it gave Terry Clontz a chance to respond. And that was great to hear more of Terry. I believe he shares our shareholder concerns.
If we learned anything to day from the ASM, other than Apple is NOT the converted fixed-to-variable licensee, it's that we have a great board and leader of the board in Terry.
As for the gentleman with the idea of a commercial, that was funny stuff. Maybe someday we will have an IDCC commercial playing during the SuperBowl. :-D
