A quality tractor is like gold, whether it is big or small, for those that need them.

I inherited a MF550, maybe it was a 540, tractor when my dad died. He bought it in 1979. I can't imagine the price of one similar today. I could use a smaller tractor, if I was buying one new today.

Tractors aren't sexy, but a good tractor company that can provide its shareholders with good/great returns certainly got my attention.

I only have 500k at .027. Tried to get another 300k at .0201, but realized that I didn't really want to add at that price if it meant an undermining of the pps, so I pulled it. Glad to see it closed up.

Another good point....the average farmer up here has around 500 acres or so and you don't use small equipment to get the job done in the field, but around the farm there's always plenty of projects. One of the reasons Deere has taken off is because......well 500 acres times 200 bushels an acre times seven dollars equals a huge need for a tax write off at the end of the year.....nothing like buying a new tractor big or small instead of giving it to uncle sam.
