When the housing market tanked he probably thought long and hard about what he was going to do to keep himself in the lifestyle he had grown accostomed to being in real estate for the last 15 yrs.
It's a matter of being able to pull people together with the right skills if you can come up with the capitol, 15 yr in real estate is kinda like the old stero type about used car salesman.
