Great RIMM news: (Some parts edited to keep it short).

Bad news for PalmOne, who failed to sign with IDCC.

Worldwide personal digital assistant shipments totaled 3.4 million units in the first quarter of 2005, a 25 percent increase from the same period last year, according to a report released on Wednesday by research firm Gartner.

According to Gartner, this was the strongest first quarter the industry has ever experienced.

In line with this trend, Research In Motion's BlackBerry shipments grew 75.6 percent in the first quarter as the company became the No. 1 ranked vendor in worldwide PDA shipments.

Meantime, the fallen-champ palmOne's PDA shipments declined 26.3 percent, and its market share fell to 18 percent, the company's lowest market share since it entered the PDA market in 1996.

Nokia's renewed entrance into the wireless PDA market with the 9300 and 9500 handhelds helped the company to move into the No. 4 position.

OT> Hi Danny. some of the good-natured fun Well you just did the best one this morning. Something you said about long winded posts of F6. Boy I love it. You made me laugh and I'm still chuckling a little bit. Guess you've forgotten about those 2 1/2 page posts you used to make on RB. .. .. Nah, you always have good critique on the board.

So I've got to mow today and then pick up my 91 year old momma (a 91 year old momma? Dang!! that means I'm no longer a kid} for the evening and tomorrow's lunch. Boy, I think she's in better shape than I. Makes me feel badly when I think I ought to have her in my will instead of the other way around.

Hope you are injoying this friendly skies weekend, my friend. Take care. ... nic
