Nic: I Agree We Don't Know What Goes On In the Boardroom
Of course if it was a matter of persuading HG and R.I.P Tilden to stay in the closet for a few weeks or a couple of months, while a "smooth transition" occurred and there was an inability to persuade them, that doesn't speak well of our abilities to negotiate.
As to the albatross, I just think that IF there is a loss (god forbid) that SOMEONE's gonna feel the heat. A shame to saddle someone new with that. And, no, not everyone will be gone, we always have to remember, as important an event as this arb decision IS and as much capital as it COULD mean, it is still about the past (though it certainly COULD hurt us in 3G licensing if we settle cheap OR lose).
I do agree that the difference between $17 and $14 isn't terribly significant compared to the difference between whatever the price is before the arb result announcement and after (of course for those holding 100,000 shares the difference is $300,000, for those holding a million, it is $3 M, nothing to sneeze at, a bit more than pocket change.
Anyway what I find encouraging is that the stock held up as well as it did.
Thanks for your reply!
