SMFI MUST HAVE A PERMIT FROM EPA BEFORE YOU START CONSTRUCTION OF A GOLD/SILVER SMELTER. If you do not believe me then call or email the regional office of EPA and ask them. Not sure where you are getting your information on permitting requirements, but SFMI is in big trouble if they try that. Geomine

Any business or industry (source) in Idaho that emits, or has the potential to emit, pollutants into the air is required to have an air pollution control permit from DEQ. Permits are issued when new sources begin operation and when existing sources modify their facilities.
