The main reason why companies put out PRs claiming ignorance on the huge price increases are often because they want to disassociate themselves from the potentially illegal promotions that caused the stock to go like that. Many times the SEC contacted the company to investigate so they are forced to put it out to save themselves from any legal actions. We will see in the future if any investigation comes out from this...

Hopefully people sold out some on the way up and didn't hold blind all for $50.
