It would still impact the price, but it could be done a lot cheaper now than before, no? At least, they could save a few million dollars, maybe more.

Pat, you understood my post exactly. If the true reasons for the RS is to go private, wouldn't the current shareholders see a premium to the current price? At least those with share averages this low.

IMO, the argument to vote down the RS for sake of stopping privatization is flawed. The RS and/or privatization doesn't benefit those wanting volitility or those that are bashing the company looking for a new lower entry point.
