Are there any Canadian Shareholder's on here?

Anyone know how we can trade our shares? Since now it looks like something positive may be happening. There are close to 25,000,000 shares held by Canadian brokerages. I talked to BMO Investorline couple weeks ago and they said cto in effect, cannot buy or sell. I own shares held from 5 years ago, and not sure if any options here. I briefly talked to a US brokerage and was told as a Cdn I can not open a trading account. Thought if I could I would transfer shares to there.
