But state budget problems are not limited to just CA and NY. As the secular bear progresses, most states find themselves with shrinking revenues and expanded mandated commitments.
I'd like the Feds to better enforce the immigration laws, but not because it's costing me money, because I don't think it is. Illegals in California, and elsewhere, work for much less than everyone else. They subsidize us with their cheap labor, and we subsidize them with some services. I think that, from a strictly monetary point of view, we're getting the better of it.
