wrong. as a lawyer he had responsibilities and all he saw was a paycheck. had he taken 5 minutes to do his job he would have known better.

I believe he knowingly went along with a disgusting con man. Happily taking money to do things like file bogus lawsuits and should be disbarred for it.
I believe even if he is not complicit (which I doubt) he is incompetent and should not be practicing law.

Nonsense. He was either part of the conspiracy (likely, IMO) or woefully derelict in his obligations as an officer of the court to determine that there was some validity to the action. Consider his surly attitude about the matter since it was brought to his attention. That doesn't seem to me to square with your assertion that he was a deceived innocent.
