Of course the MMs got the shares, thats their Job... They buy and sell shares, so if there are no buyers, or sellers, they still can "make the market" by providing shares for people when no real investors are selling or buying.

The reason they got "cheap shares" was because someone sold 5 million shares at the bid. Again I am not trying to be rude when I tell you this, but please read up some about how MMs work, what their job is, and how they do it, it will really help you understand this whole process alot better.

Traders never trade directly with each other, anytime someone buys, or sells shares at a price, the MMs are the ones actually doing the trades. Their job is to buy shares at one price, usually the bid, and sell at another price, usually the ASK, they have to do this or there would be no shares to trade.... MMs make their money on whats called the "spread" that is the differece between the bid price and the ask price.
