I certainly understand the strat is more complex than a weathervane, but I began reading all these posts about a sail, and second-guessing the engineers.

I don't know your personal qualifications, but mine---in the arena of aeronautical engineering---are squat. What I was implying in my analogy is that the winds aloft would keep the back of the strat downwind, and the props would then push against the wind in order to maintain postition. If the wind changes direction the strat (rooster) would swing accordingly, keeping its nose into the wind, while the props continued to do their job.

I'll read further back in the thread to try to find where the whole sail thing started, but I think this line of your post says it all:

Kudos to the team for hopefully coming up with a working solution to this multi-variable equation.

I rely on the team, which has devoted their careers to aeronautical engineering, to figure this stuff out. I don't think that folks like myself, posting to a financial message board, can come up with any better solution.

I'll go back to re-read some of the posts. Maybe I've miscontrued things here and, if so, I will come back to apologize.
