I think you may have posted your own answer. Isn't the strategy you employed a prime example of the very practice you are questioning? One could see your approach as trying to artificially maintain a price (not really arificial as you are willing to pay the price) but you are not allowing other investors to establish their perspective as to the market value of this stock. This can only happen with these very low trade volume stocks. Please note I am not at all critical of your strategy, but my reality suggests that your efforts must be included in the overall picture of a days trades. As to your being missed with your higher bids, I suspect that part of this is due the larger blocks that were traded at a price lower than your bid comes from the 'great computer' matching "all or none" blocks of similar sizes.

funny you ask that question i do know of a friend who is doing just that, day trading yet i dont have the courage cause i think Vu1 is about to explode......glty
