robear, blog Mr. Smith and ask him how is the NASDAQ coming, for we were suppose to be VUOCD for what all but a month ?
That is were your $$$$ is gonna come from, when Vuocd is still a pinky no one is gonna invest (talking big boys)
I am currently out. But might get back in IF, they can get their act together !!!
Bill is the most positive person who I've talked to and his recent blog entry gives me lots of hope:
May 25, 2012
I wanted to share with you some highlights from the conference call we held for Vu1 investors this week. In short, we are making tremendous progress in overcoming the challenges we’ve experienced, and now feel we are building a lighting alternative – and company – that will meet and exceed the expectations of shareholders and consumers.
First, I have taken a more active role with the company – I’ve been named Executive Chairman and President, and I have spent the greater part of the last six weeks addressing the issues we’ve experienced with communications regarding our manufacturing process as well as efforts in North America.
We are no longer sourcing any components from Europe – we believe we have consolidated manufacturing in China and are now relying on Chinese manufacturers for the sourcing of our components. This means we will obtain these materials in a cost-effective manner, and without further delay.
With all key equipment needed for manufacturing either identified or installed, we expect production to ramp within the next several weeks. The final piece of this process – hiring our own quality control and manufacturing engineers to oversee our interests at the Huayi plant – should also be complete shortly.
We are moving forward with purpose – it is clear from our recent reception at Lightfair that the world is eager for an alternative to CFLs and LEDs. We are scaling our operation with hopes to produce between 5 and 7 million units over the next 12 months – including not only the R30, but also the A19, and R40. We remain committed to shipping the first of these units this summer to Lowe’s and other customers. Ultimately, our manufacturing model envisions production up to 20 million units by 2014, with a total of six unique SKUs, including the above mentioned R’s and A and their 220V counterparts for Europe, Asia and South America.
Many have questioned whether the delays we have experienced were indicative of the manufacturability of our lightbulb. A bulb of our complexity, which requires the fabrication of three separate units — Glass Jug, Gun, and Electronics — in three separate facilities, takes time to refine. As with any new technology – including CFL 20 years ago and LED bulbs even at present, these technologies went through the same type of growing pains – once production processes are streamlined and refined, Vu1 will be ready to ship light bulbs.
As I have stated many times, there are two things that matter; first, manufacturing the lamps; and second, making sure we have proper quality control standards on the lamps that are ready to ship. Shipping bulbs prematurely is NOT an option.
I thank you again for your interest in Vu1, and promise that I will keep you updated as developments occur, both positive and not so positive.
Bill Smith

New Vu1.com Website is THE Resource For Energy-Efficient Light
Launch of new site will serve as a guide for Vu1 ESL technology
Press Release: Vu1 Corporation – Tue, Mar 27, 2012 9:00 AM EDT
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Vu1 is a company dedicated to bringing affordable, earth-friendly lighting to homes and businesses worldwide. With the launch of its new website at www.Vu1.com, Vu1 is now illuminating the Internet with helpful information on Electron-Stimulated Luminescence (ESL) – the latest innovation in lighting technology.
As Vu1 prepares for the nationwide release of its signature R30 light bulb at mass-market retailers, it has updated its website to serve as a one-stop resource for current and prospective consumers of ESL technology. The Vu1 R30 is a true incandescent alternative that provides a near-incandescent-type of lighting output, using 2/3 less energy than traditional bulbs, and does so without the use of harmful mercury.
Innovations and improved content on the new website include:
A comprehensive explanation of ESL technology for the layman, including a comparison chart that helps establish its superiority to incandescents, CFLs and LEDs;
A user-friendly product page, which features unbiased reviews, specifications and other data (a store-finder function will be active once supplies are replenished);
Detailed information about the company, the foundation of the Lambertian technology and the history behind the development of the R30 bulb;
Interactive features designed to update and inform on the latest developments at Vu1.
In addition, a robust, next-generation investor-relations microsite will be integrated in the near term.

Vu1 Corporation Transitions Manufacturing to Huayi Lighting Company
Announces closure of Sendio manufacturing operation in Czech Republic
Transition to save Vu1 over $4 million in fixed costs annually, significantly increase cash flows and reduce burn rate
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Vu1 Corporation (OTCBB: VUOCD.OB - News) (“the Company”), a developer and manufacturer of proprietary mercury-free, energy-efficient general illumination lighting products, announced today it has transitioned its manufacturing operations to the Huayi Lighting Company Ltd. (“Huayi”), closing its manufacturing operation at the Sendio facility in the Czech Republic.
“As part of a previously-announced review of our existing manufacturing facilities, the Board determined that it is in the best interest of Vu1 and its shareholders to transition manufacturing to the Huayi Lighting Company; the wind-down of the Sendio facility was completed on February 13, 2012. By shifting manufacturing to Huayi Lighting, we can achieve both our near- and long-term business objectives in a cost-effective manner,” stated William B. Smith, Chairman of Vu1 Corporation. “This strategic transition positions us to effectively execute our global growth strategy, propels us towards profitability and further increases shareholder value and eventual monetization of the Company.”
Huayi Lighting will manufacture Vu1 Corporation’s lighting products, including R30, A19 and R40 bulbs for Lowe’s, Avspar International, Seattle Lighting and other pending retail and distribution outlets. The changeover from the Sendio facility to Huayi Lighting will save Vu1 Corporation over $4 million in fixed costs annually while further increasing the Company’s cash flows.
Located in China’s “lighting capital” GuZhen, ZhongShan City, Huayi Lighting is an experienced lighting products manufacturer with approximately 5,000 employees throughout its 30 manufacturing facilities with 2.15 million square feet of manufacturing capacity. Notable customers include Beijing National Stadium (“Birds Nest”), Four Season Hotels and Resorts and the National Museum of China.
volume seems to be picking up, PPS seems to be rising, ?? February is around the corner, I am hoping this is gonna be a good month for all of us.......
Vu1 Corporation (OTCBB: VUOCD) (“the Company”), a developer and manufacturer of mercury-free, energy-efficient general illumination lighting technology, announced today favorable updates regarding its sales, manufacturing and funding efforts.
Sales
Due to the strength of the recent launch of Vu1 R30 bulbs on Lowes.com, the Company has received a follow-on purchase order (PO) from Lowe’s and expects to have the website restocked soon; the initial supply of Vu1 R30 bulbs sold-out within 2 hours of being made available on Lowes.com.
In addition, the Company is working closely with its Lowe’s counterparts to support the anticipated nationwide rollout and availability of R30 bulbs in 1,725 Lowe’s stores.
Manufacturing
At the end of December 2011, Vu1’s R30 product, as manufactured by Huayi Lighting, was internally qualified. The Company has been working diligently to qualify its product since October 2011, with the goal of completing this important milestone prior to the January 23rd start of the Chinese New Year. Huayi Lighting will manufacture the R30 bulbs for Lowe’s.
As previously announced in October, Vu1 signed a five-year manufacturing agreement with Huayi Lighting, a leading lighting manufacturer, to supply it with 250 million units (bulbs). Founded in 1986, Huayi has 200,000 square meters (2,152,000 square feet) of manufacturing capacity and was widely praised for its lighting of Beijing’s famous National Stadium (popularly known as the ‘Bird’s Nest’ stadium) during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
Financing
As a result of the strong initial reception of R30 bulbs on Lowes.com, Vu1 has received offers from both company insiders and people with whom it has existing relationships, to finance Vu1's growth at terms that management deems to be in the best interest of all shareholders and better than what is currently available in the public capital markets. The Company has therefore decided to pull its current S-1 Registration and complete a private transaction that will give Vu1 the ability to fund the reorders it has received from Lowe's.

Well New Year just around the corner, Lowe's doesnt have a purchase tag yet on their web page. No new news, we can only hang on for some scraps from the table, cause it just is not looking good. I hate to say this but it almost looks scammy to me.
I am in it until march after that if nothing is promising then I am out..........good luck to me
Unbelievable, here we are just about a week from the new year and still cant get lowes to post & sell our light bulb correctly.....whatever
Someone at work told me today that the US Government has banned the ban on incandescent light bulbs before the Law was suppose to go into effect any links I cant find any ?
Guess what I found it 2 min later LOL,what a joke.....
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/12/congress-defunds-ban-on-incandescent-light-bulbs-but-doesnt-quite-save-them/
Looks like iBox will need a makeover in coming days with some of these recent news events/developments and what appears a new corporate site too....
I'll see what I can do over the next few days (or this weekend).
Vu1 Corporation (OTCBB: VUOCD) currently is working with Lowe’s to ensure that its R30 ESL bulb is made available to consumers via its website, Lowes.com, as soon as possible. In developing its first-in-class technology, Vu1 created a type of bulb that does not readily fit into the existing categories as listed at Lowes.com. As the December 1st on-sale date approached, it became apparent that a brand new category for ESL bulbs would need to be created – a process which requires significant restructuring of the website, at a time when resources are already stretched due to pressures from Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the brisk year-end sales cycle. We are hopeful that Lowe’s will bridge these technological issues shortly, and will keep our consumers posted as updates become available. Interested parties can access the most up-to-date information related to Vu1 sales and product developments at the company’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/vu1lighting.
Wouldn't this have been thought of before 12-1 ? I just wish
someone would honor their word for once, do what you say your gonna do.......frustrated in Colorado
Bull, sorry to post here then leave for a week (blame it on the tryptophan); I believe that at the end of 20 days the symbol will revert back to vuoc.ob. Any additional changes to the symbol and the board that Vu1 trades on are probably part of another SEC filing and may take more than 20 days.
Of course, if you want to be absolutely sure then you should try contacting the company.
just about 14 days left on VUOCD, then we go to BULB and hopefully NASDAQ.......
Saw this on Facebook Vu1
http://www.earthtechling.com/2011/11/mercury-free-esl-bulb-coming-to-lowes/
Robear then after 20 days will it be set ? or is this still in limbo until the sec decides ?
VOUCD is still an .ob stock, I’m pretty sure that the name is changed for 20 days so that anyone sleeping through this split does not try to sell a $7.20 share for $0.36
The plus side of this change is that it shuts down the public yahoo boards and allows Vu1 to release press under the new symbol without having a bunch of yahoos make silly assumptions and tear at their every move (I likey :)
The negative side is that some brokers aren’t very fast at making this sort of adjustment so your (and my) shares may be in limbo until the pencil pushers catch up. In my case I tested to see if I could sell a few shares at $10 and my broker (E*Trade) wouldn’t accept the offer; on the other hand, I also put in a trade to purchase at $5 (VUOCD.ob) and E*Trade was more than happy to accept that order.
Is VUOCD on NASDAQ ?
the company’s symbol has changed from VUOC to VUOCD for the next 20 business days to reflect the reverse stock split.
here we go......

Lowes has Vu1 online, however they claim it is not energy star qualified ? Here is a definition......
ENERGY STAR Qualified Products
Save energy and fight climate change with ENERGY STAR qualified products. They use less energy, save money, and help protect the environment.
I thought we do qualify for all the above ?
I believe they still will, as of today no. When the time comes I believe they will decide up to 20:1 based on the PPS, if the PPS is say around .80-1.00 I do not believe that the full 20 is gonna happen. Remember their target is 4.00 for Nasdaq.
Did they end up doing a reverse split?
Maybe not half, but probably more than 25% off. If someone in the industry can comment that would be great. I'm coming to this conclusion because my dad worked in electrical supply sales and would always tell me how ridiculous the mark up is on products like light bulbs at retail stores. At some point we'll probably get an idea of what the real margin is, but don't expect $300k in revs from this. Likely much lower.
I dont believe that even lowes would get the bulb at 1/2 off.
You're right, my error. Still, a nice order.
Where are you getting 300k revenue? Did they release that number in the report?
I didn't see an official revenue anywhere in the articles I read, and from my own estimate (in no way official!) I'd expect revenues much lower, like $150k. If the bulbs are retailing at lowe's for $15 they are probably sold to distributors (including lowes) at a discount of around 50%. I bet they buy them for more like $5-7 a piece. But again, just me hypothesizing, hope the margin is better :)
300K in revenue from this order. It has to be the largest order to date.

Oct. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Vu1 Corp., a U.S. developer of mercury-free lights, will sell its energy-efficient bulbs at Lowe’s Cos. stores in its first deal with a major retailer, Chief Executive Officer Scott Blackstone said.
Lowe’s, with more than 1,700 stores across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, will initially sell the bulbs online and then in its shops next year, Blackstone said by phone from New York. While sales of the lights, which are about 70 percent more efficient than incandescent bulbs, are currently limited to “sampling,” there’s potential to generate “serious volumes,” he said.
Vu1, based in New York, is seeking to win a share of the lighting market as the U.S. introduces new efficiency standards next year that will cut the use of most traditional incandescent bulbs. The new rules may add $4 billion to U.S. light bulb sales in the three years through 2014, according to estimates from London-based researcher Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
The deal with Lowe’s, the largest U.S. home-improvement retailer after Home Depot Inc., is a “huge jump up,” Blackstone said. Vu1 is also in talks with electrical distributors to sell bulbs to businesses, and aims to announce more agreements by the end of the year, he said.
Vu1’s bulb, which can be dimmed, will sell at $14.98, according to a company statement. While that exceeds the $12-to- $13 cost of a comparable dimmable compact fluorescent bulb, it lasts longer, is mercury-free and produces every wavelength of light, the CEO said. Lowe’s will sell the bulb online from Dec. 1 and in its stores from February, according to the statement.
Efficiency Tradeoff
“Fluorescent technology is missing certain colors; that’s the tradeoff for efficiency,” Blackstone said. “The majority of people want to be environmental, just not in a way that makes their house look bad.”
While Vu1’s bulbs meet the new standards, they’re less efficient than compact fluorescent lamps, or CFLs, and light- emitting diodes, according to Tom Rowlands-Rees, an analyst at New Energy Finance. If they produce a similar quality of light to old incandescent bulbs, they may find a market, he said.
“Vu1’s bulb could be an option for those consumers that are not convinced by the light output of CFLs and LEDs but are no longer able to buy incandescent bulbs due to the standards,” Rowlands-Rees said in an e-mail.

Vu1 has a write-up in CNET, the article was dated October 31.

Vu1 said today the first in its line of efficient light bulbs will be available at retailer Lowes, pitting one more technology against the aging incandescent bulb.
The company's first product is an R30 bulb designed to replace a 65-watt incandescent flood light, which uses about 19.5 watts of power. Vu1 (pronounced "view one") plans to introduce a classic Edison A19 shape bulb as well in Europe and the U.S.
The R30 is less efficient than a comparable compact fluorescent bulb, which uses about 13 watts, but it does not have mercury and has full light instantly. Priced at $14.95, it's less expensive than comparable LEDs. Compared to halogens, Vu1 says its bulbs are more energy efficient and will last longer--about 11,000 hours.
The color rendering index, which is a measure of light quality, is 85 CRI and the color temperature is warm at 2800 Kelvin.
The company calls the technology behind the bulb electronically stimulated luminescence (ESL), a technique that produces the same light quality as traditional incandescent lamps. Like a cathode ray tube, electrons are fired at glass coated with phosphors that are excited to give off light. The technology has been around for years but never fully pursued for lighting, according to the company.
The company has received UL certification for its A-type bulb and R-30 flood light bulb.
