This is the danger the consortium is taking, in that if they let the hedge funds take the fall, the hedge funds can say anything they can prove. This I feel would prove fatal to all but the FDIC

Just this - in the long run - there is no honor among thieves.

If there is anything for any of the (allegedly) criminal parties to squeal on, they will do if their own cajones are on the line.
