Have you ever tried to short a penny stock?
First of all you "usually" won't find a major broker that will short stocks UNLESS their price per share is over $5.00. Second, if you do find a broker that will short a stock under $5.00 per share they usually require a minimum of $2.50 per share in your brokerage account of the stock you want to short. Example: Say you want to short 100,000 shares of BRAV, first you have to have in your "MARGIN" account 100,000 x $2.50 = $250,000.00. Then you will short the stock at 100,000 x .0165 = $1650.00. Third once the stock goes down too $.009 where you would buy-to-cover would be $800.00....all this for a profit of $850.00 and having to have $250,000 in your account before you can short to begin with. My conclusion is I don't think anyone is shorting this stock. If so, I would like to know who is shorting and what broker they are using so I can contact them about shorting stocks in the future.
