Things have to start somewhere. I just latched on to a small Canadian company the other day who's site launch has outpaced FaceBook in their first 6 months of operation. Theyre in the same business as FB but have a new concept for their site. It happens all the time. If there were no new companies with no new developments or products where would the world be?
