Doma,

If a DELL customer purchases DELL's Otanium Suite(smart card) software but also requires TPM software, then DELL offers Wave's ETS as an additional option, as Otanium suite does not include Wave's or any other TPM software.

The original purpose of the TPM is to authenticate the platform so that devices on the network could be trusted as not being trojan horses with agendas. So I would think it rare for someone to actually purchase a suite of software that specifically uses the TPM to help authenticate users without the TPM being used to authenticate the platform. It makes absolutely no sense since if you don't use the TPM to authenticate the platform, there is no reason to use it to authenticate a user. Software-only would be good enough if you weren't using the TPM to make sure the platform could be trusted. Does the Dell Otanium suite have any enhancements to specifically take advatage of the TPM?

I think that is why IdentiPHI was integrated with Wave ETS. IdentiPHI has been written as a user based software that uses the TPM. To make this an effective solution, this must run on-top, and after, the TPM is used to authenticate the platform. Just my opinion.

Anyone using IdentiPHI needs the platform verified (with Wave or anyone else).
